The First Myanmar Traditional Chess (Sittuyin) Open Contest in the 21st Century is holding at the gym of Aung San Stadium from 19 to 27 February 2011 starting from 1 pm daily.
 
Myanmar Chess Federation is promoting this ancient chess game and this tournament will be included for the first time in XXVII SEA Games to be hosted by Myanmar in 2013.
 

    

 

Chess is one of the games that is well-known and played around the world. And in Myanmar, we have our own significant traditional chess game. Since ancient times, the Myanmar people were very keen and fond of playing traditional chess. In fact, Myanmar traditional chess in based on four warfare elements such as Elephant, Cavalry, Chariot, Infantry which were show in old Myanmar military text and scriptures.
