Naga Traditional New Year Festival Tour

Yangon-Mandalay-Khanti-Lahae

Naga Land is at the westen side of Chindwin river, Homalin Township for lower part and Namyoon Township for northe east part. There are (4) township in Naga Land called Leshi, Lehe, Nanyoon & Khamti. African Zooloos & Naga look quite similar in wearing the loin cloths. They take pride to live freely of their empty rump. They don't wear slipper or shoes. Naga also have very interesting taboos & their ways of life. In Naga festival, they use to hang the two buffalo head at the entrance. You can see their traditional dance & have Mythun meat, sticky rice with Kong wine (intoxicated brow). They use the straw of Arundo domax or bamboo cup.
January 12 Yangon-Mandalay-Khanti-Lahae
The charter flight leaves Yangon early in the morning for a short stop at Mandalay international airport, and farther to Khanti airport. After the arrival there, guests are transported by local mortor vehicles [trucks/ lorries] to the ferry on the Chindwin River. On the other side of the river lies Sinthei village. Then move farther by 4 x 4 off road pickups to Lahe, while on the way falling into a trance charmed by the Panorama of Naga Mountain Ranges. Box lunch is served at the rest station on pleasant Namasalain stream, where guests have a chance to enjoy rare local amenities. After dinner in Lahe, a night's rest and further stay is arranged in the Naga indigenous huts.
January 13 Lahae
After breakfast, a roam or an observation in the surrounding neighbourhood and villages can be taken by riding in a car, or on foot through one's own arrangement. Lunch Boxes can be ordered in advance at the reception for that purpose. An informative video feature on Naga is entertained after dinner.
January 14 Lahae
Guests may take part in the Naga traditional ' Ceremony of Erection of Pole' from 9;00 am to 11;00 am and may go for a walk around the vicinity of the festival.
January 15 Lahae
After breakfast, Guests take their places on the Festival grounds to attend the traditional ' Opening Ceremony of Naga New Year', commencing at 8;30 am. In the evening, from 6;30 to 10;00 pm, Guests take pleasure in the bonfire and Naga traditional dances while enjoying traditional food and rice wine self-help basis.
January 16 Lahae
To leave Lahe at 5;00 am and head back home after having breakfast at 4;00 am. Box Lunch is served at Khanti Ferry. Then take a flight at Khanti Airport & back to Mandalay & Yangon. Services come to an end at Yangon Int’l Airport.
Arrival Yangon, pre/post-festival tour to your choice of other destinations such as Bagan, Mandalay Inle Lake, etc. is possible.
